Sam E. contacted us with concern about high radon levels at his home in Poland. They had been measuring around 6.2 pci/L in the living space and wanted to get this number as low as possible. Maine Radon & Water Treatment was engaged for a site visit where we put together a mitigation plan for a SubSlab Depressurization system exiting through the garage siding. We had to be cautious as there was radiant heat in the garage and it was fully finished.
Once a plan was established, the customer was satisfied and wanted to move forward with the installation. Luckily, several days before his project, the builder alerted him that there was a passive system that was sheetrocked in behind the finished garage walls. He was able to show us photos of the area and we updated the quote and installed a fully interior system. This benefitted the client because the project was able to be finished at a lower cost and with a lower impact to the exterior image of the home.
