Air and Water Mitigation in a New Construction Home

Our client had recently moved into a new construction home in Casco, Maine. He was concerned about radon levels in the air and water, so he engaged Maine Radon & Water Treatment for testing. We conducted both tests and both came back extremely elevated: the air was at about 14pci/L and the water was at  18,000pci/L. The client knew he had a passive system installed by the builder, but we were unable to access the pipe in the attic, so we pivoted to a fully exterior system.

 

The client looked to us for advice and guidance throughout the process, and we were able to get both installations done in a timely manner and with great results. The post test for the air came back less than 1 and the water was at less than 1000pci/L. This project led to his neighbors, who recently had a baby, to test their house and become aware of the issue as well.
