Our clients had just moved into a new home and had the radon levels tested - they were at 30 pC/L and they started looking for an effective solution. Their home was unique as about half of it was built over a tight (think 12inch!) crawlspace and half was built over a basement. In order for radon mitigation to be successful, and to get the levels as low as possible, each section of the home that is built on a different foundation should have it's own extraction point.
With this information, we got to work core drilling not only the foundation floor, but directly underneath the slab of the crawl space. This way, we could provide suction from underneath both slabs with the same fan. This, coupled with a damper to control the airflow of the system, made for a perfect solution. The clients were happy and we even had some fun on the roof!
